The NV Energy Team has a great time assembling Pay it Forward PIF Snack Packs

The NV Energy employees gathered together on October 6th and held their first Pay it Forward “PIF” event to help feed hungry kids in Northern Nevada.  Together their team assembled over 500 Snack Packs!   

Snack Packs are distributed to homeless school children through the Northern Nevada Food Bank’s Back-Pack Kids program and the local school system.   The Back Pack Kids Program distributes backpacks full of food every week to 19 area schools.  It’s a very worthwhile and successful program.  Please contact us to see how fun and easy it is to hold your own PIF Party.  http://www.PIFLiving.org

As a great Hunger Action Month activity Server Technology Inc., shut down its manufacturing lines for a short time on September 2 to help hungry kids in Northern Nevada. This year at the company’s Pay It Forward event, Server Technology halted assembly of its power distribution units, to assemble over 400 bags of food for the Back-Pack Kids Program for the Northern Nevada Food Bank. The Back-Pack Kids Program distributes backpacks full of food every week to 19 area schools.

“We wanted to do our part to support this great program to help hungry kids and support the Northern Nevada Food Bank,” said Brandon Ewing, president of Server Technology. “It’s tough right now for a lot of people and our company and caring employees want to do our part for kids,” he said.

Organized by Server Technology’s Community Action Team, each department at Server Technology was assigned different food items to donate to the program – from main course dinners to healthy breakfast items and snacks. In past months, Server Technology’s Community Action team has raised money for supply packages for U.S. soldiers in Iraq with an ice cream social and helped build and finance a sustainability garden at Pine Middle School so that local low income kids will have more fruits and vegetables.

The Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC) held their first PIF Party on Monday August 23rd and assembled over 240 Snack Packs for local homeless school children.  Our many thanks to NSDC for their generous support for this very worthy cause. 

NSDC is a non-profit organization that helps small to medium-sized businesses grow and prosper by providing loans for commercial real estate and equipment at reasonable rates and terms that would otherwise not be available.

Since NSDC was established in 1981, it has helped nearly 1,500 businesses obtain approximately $1.8 BILLION in real estate and equipment financing.

Pay it Forward PIF Living partners with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Back Pack Kids Program to provide meals for homeless school children.  Since we started the company earlier this year we have provided over 1,500 meals.

Birthday Parties

Make your next child’s birthday party a fun and rewarding experience!

We believe the best place to start teaching the concept of giving is with our children, so we have created the Pay it Forward, Birthday Party. Giving is the greatest gift!

Children are asked to bring a specific food item instead of a traditional gift to the party.

Food items are laid out on a table in an assembly line for children to add into Snack Packs.

It is very rewarding to see the children working together to help with such an important cause.  Overall assembly takes about 15-20 minutes.

Once completed, the children can then proceed with other party activities, knowing they have done something important for others.

Hopefully, each guest that attends will decide to Pay it Forward and have a PIF Birthday Party themselves.

We invite you to try a PIF Party in 2010!  PIF Birthday Parties are a win-win for everyone.  All you need to do is provide 20 minutes of your child’s special day to help others in need. There is no additional work to have a Pay it Forward Birthday Party, simply enclose information regarding the PIF Birthday Party with your invite.
